Denise Barnes

Denise Barnes holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education, Master of Science in counseling, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance.

Her background encompasses forty years in counseling. Denise was directly responsible for her school being recognized as a Blue Ribbon School for Academic Excellence.  She also excelled at developing innovative and diverse programs to provide students the tools needed to be successful in life.

In addition, Denise is involved in the following: member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Nu Zeta Omega Chapter and serves as President, member of the Sacred Heart Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John International, and a volunteer at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center.

She is actively involved in St. Mary’s Catholic Church as a lector, a member of the Ladies Sodality and a charter member of her High School Alumni.

Recently, Denise was appointed by Governor Larry Hogan to serve on the Minority Health and Health Disparities Advisory Committee.

Denise and her husband Wayne reside in Waldorf, Maryland.
