Markia Simmonds

Markia Simmonds serves as the Business Manager at the University System of Maryland at Southern Maryland (USMSM), bringing over a decade of expertise in financial planning, analysis, and reporting. In her role, she is responsible for preparing budget proposals for submission to the State of Maryland and local counties, as well as managing a wide range of financial documents and reports to support the institution’s strategic and operational goals.

Markia holds an MBA in Human Resources Management from Ashford University and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Florida Memorial University. Her educational background uniquely positions her to blend financial acumen with organizational insight—an asset that contributes significantly to her success in her current role.
