  • What Employers Want Out of College Grads

Navigating the transition from an environment of higher education to that of the workforce can daunt current and potential college students.  Without forward-thinking and proper planning, students may fear walking out of the classroom setting and into the interview process. The desire to stand out in a sea of applicants with similar educational backgrounds raises questions, including: What are employers really looking for from graduates? How can students take an early and proactive approach to prepare for this?

  • Return to Campus Statement

We all start our correspondences these days with “I hope you are well,” but it is indeed a heartfelt sentiment even if common. It is no less heartfelt now as we talk about what that means for us to be back on campus—in person!—for classes and events. As part of the University System of Maryland, managed by the University of Maryland, USMSM will maintain a couple protocols as we emerge from our isolation.

With social justice issues coming to light and a global pandemic affecting every facet of our lives, there’s no doubt our workforce is dramatically transforming to meet the “new normal.”
